Mark Braverman

Mark Braverman was born in 1958 in Riga, Lithuania’s Capital city. He graduated art school in 1974 and studied for 3 more years with such artists as Korkonov and Bakov.

He served in the army from 1977 to 1979. He then got married and had his first daughter – Gabriela. As a result of Zionist activities, Mark was sent to prison for a period of 5 years. When he was released from prison, he realized that Lithuania had changed very much. It was now more open to people and cultures. He now had 2 more daughters. – Tsarina and Shirley.

Mark started to paint after his friends, who he studied with him at the art studio in the past, had told him that he must take his painting talent more seriously and that he has a future as an artist.

In the year of 2000, Mark emigrated to Israel and decided to devote himself to his art.

Mark’s work is distinguished for his uses of bright vivid colors, and for his special texture. His work is a coordinated blend of colors that brings to life his subjects. His use of textures is immediately noticeable and brings an unusual quality that beautifully affects layers of colors in the painting
Mark’s works can be found in private collections in Israel, USA and Europe.
